When you're absolutely obsessed with your pooch (Iike I am!), then you're constantly figuring out how you can incorporate your dog into your life 24/7. I'll admit it, I love to take my toy poodle, Freddy, on hikes, light jogs, and even traveling with me. And now, after I've discovered Doga, I can practice my downward dogs alongside the boss of DD's as well as get my own personal ohm's on.

Last week I attended a life-changing yoga class at Exhale Spa called "Unleash Your Fitness" at The Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica. As I dropped off my car at the valet, Freddy and I were escorted immediately to the Lobby where I was greeted, checked in and taken out to a grassy area in between the bungalows and pool. Yoga mats were already set in place with various small to big dogs playing and barking amongst each other while the dog owners were all getting acquainted.

As we got settled, our yoga instructors, Chelsea Kruse (accompanied by her dog, Conan) and Kate Willson (with her dogs Peppermint and Honey) traded off midway during the session showing us various moves that we could incorporate our dogs in such as standing in crescent and holding your dog as extra strength training. Or even a wheel pose with your dog placed on your stomach, which I declined, as it's hard enough holding that pose. The class was a great way to get completely stretched out and had a nice flow to it amid loads of laughter provided by various pups, which quite frankly, should always be a part of yoga. I'm a believer now in doga!

After we wrapped up, we went to the back deck area for a "yappy hour" of wine, light appetizers, and free treats and toys for the dogs - the perfect socialization hour for dog and dog owners alike. I'm definitely hooked and I think Freddy even enjoyed being a part of my new yoga experience.
